rural heaven

Westleton is an idyllic village set on the famous Suffolk Heritage Coast. It is located only a few miles from the sea and nestled in between quintessential Suffolk seaside towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh.

In August Westleton village hosts their annual barrel fair with live music, food, drink and craft stalls. The event usually starts at midday with a very competitive annual barrel rolling race between The Westleton Crown and another pub in the village The White Horse teams. All the contestants have to roll barrels down the village green and back using a poll.

Westleton village is the perfect base for exploring this stunning coastline; beaches, heathland, forests and charming local towns are within easy reach.

Minsmere, the RSPB’s flagship European nature reserve, is only a couple of miles away.

On the doorstep, Westleton Heath and Common offer fabulous walking, take a look at our suggested walks page or Suffolk Coast & Heaths website lists a number of recommended walking guides and leaflets that are available to download free of charge.
