Snape Maltings are a unique collection of granaries situated close to Aldeburgh. Occupying an important bridging place on the River Alde, Snape Maltings has a long and fascinating history stretching back to Anglo Saxon times.
The Maltings are visited by thousands of people every year, not least for the famous annual Aldeburgh Music Festival, founded by Benjamin Britten, which is held in the Snape Maltings Concert Hall, a beautiful conversion of one of the old maltings.
